He's got a background in information security, but his focus has been security-security for the last what, six-seven years. He's all business. Whole job's strictly by-the-books since the shuffle. Not that we ever weren't. But used to at least have a little… I don't know… humanity in charge of the dailies. But things change, yeah. Lost Chief. Lost Zi. Half the diagnostics techs swapped out. All casualties of the operational shift. Needed more big brains running the data from the wall, not just geos, but radiologist and a few lab coat-types who whenever they talk it might as well be gibberish… Just real hard math and theoretical science that's more than I can follow. [IKUZ]: Whole op is new business. Expansion on hold. We moved the Hauler into the crags with VTOL support to ensure the data wall had an anchor point to map its readings. Then we found out the readings were too damn much and had to shut down the Hauler's everything… Literally, emergency dead switched it into blackout mode, because the initial pull from the sub-surface was exponentially larger than anything we were set up to handle. And we've run walls before. It was crazy. New chief threw a fit. [IKUZ]: I… I know these sessions we have with ourselves are secure—like private, and only high-level SI and maybe command staff pull them if anything we say pings certain security or personal risk thresholds—but still feels… uncomfortable… being honest on a record, private or not. I guess it's fine. I've definitely said worse and sec-revs always come back clean. Just… maybe it's the talking to myself that I'm reacting to. I don't know. We're taught these sessions help keep us even and help to work out anything that needs sorting. I guess so. Not really trying to complain here. Just… sometimes it gets hard to toe the line when the line is beyond you and the people running the show aren't who you thought you'd go to war with.
